Artist Statement
My work consists of repetition and patterns that occur through my process of making which leads to the permanence of the ephemeral.

The meditation I enter when methodically working on a piece through using my hands is where the synthesis of my ideas begin to take place. It allows me to enter into a space where I can start to conceptualize what I want to make by working through the material. The materials I work with are stone, glass, ceramics, metal and wood. These materials become the language I speak through to translate ideas into sculptures. In an attempt to lock down these ever-evolving objects and feelings, I am capturing an object in a moment in time. Through the repetition of physical interaction with materials such as stone and glass, I am embedding a memory through action. Each material is a challenge to represent experimentation and capture the mastery of skills that I find most important to my art practice.
